Research

My research interests lie in political communication, with a particular focus on grassroots and social movement communication.

Listed below is a selection of major projects that I have been involved in. You can find further details on my research activities on my University of Birmingham profile, Google Scholar, and ORCID.

Recent projects

In collaboration with the national human rights education charity Journey to Justice (JtoJ), this project explored the power of storytelling to create change in communities.

My new study analyses the communicative tactics of the environmental movement during the 2024 election in the UK. It aims to focus on pro- and anti-climate groups and influencers on TikTok to gauge the ecology of grassroots environmental electoral communication in this digital sphere.

My research here focuses on the interrelatedness of social movements and elections and develops the theoretical dimension of movement-voter interaction.
